The importance of Organic Minerals in our food Updated: 04 August 2010

Name Metallic form Organic form Found in Relative approximative % of all minerals found in Blood

- General information
Metallic form of a mineral is the form that is toxic for toxic minerals like Lead and Cadmium. Beneficial minerals like Calcium become almost useless for the body when it is in it's metallic form. Good minerals like Calcium in metallic form can only be assimilated by the body up to around 8% -12% for children, 3% - 5% for people over 40 and perhaps only less than 1% over 50. This is the form that normally is found in mineral supplements in vitamin shops.

When food is cooked or deep fried minerals in our food become gradually more and more metallic depending on cooking time or frying time and temperature. Also other nutrients are destroyed to a large extent through cooking and frying. Compare Dr. Pottengers research with 900 cats. Pasteurization is a common form of cooking that destroys the nutrient value of minerals partly or completely.

If you ask me where the limit goes and when a mineral becomes more or less useless or even toxic when boiling or frying etc. I don't know the answer. I would very much like to know the answer. Suffice to read about Pottengers 900 cats and try to eat always a healthy proportion of raw fresh vegetables and fruits. It could also be wise to take Selenium supplements against toxic heavy metals from e.g. tooth fillings, root fillings and vaccinations if we have had any. But make sure the Selenium is organic only in the supplement. About Pasteurization read about the organic quality Demeter in the Beutelbacher web site. See the Organic Brands list for a link to the Beutelsbacher web site.

We avoid what we can of potentially harmful minerals but we cannot become extremists. I still accept occasionally water or drinks that is given to me made on local tap water. But I don't make it a habit. I don't accept vaccinations any longer since they often contain Mercury and Aluminum. I never accept Amalgam as tooth filling since there is a non toxic (hopefully) ceramic alternative, and so on...
Organic form is the form of a mineral that is good for the body or at least not toxic. A toxic mineral like Lead or Cadmium becomes non-toxic in plants that are not boiled or fried. A known good mineral like Calcium becomes beneficent and can be used by the body up to 100% independent of a person's age. Plants that are raw, fresh and certified organic from a farm that is certified organic, (sometimes many years of certification are needed), have lots of beneficial minerals. Vegetables have around 10% minerals and fruits around 5% in average. The body cannot get too much of organic minerals. It disposes of surplus organic minerals and takes up only what it needs. If we boil or deep fry plants and fruits the minerals become metallic and relatively useless or even in some cases toxic for the body.

Do not take this list as absolute proof. I have dug up information from near and far about the positive and negative effects of different minerals in different forms. But the information is not complete, this is just a beginning. There could be errors, small or big, but I of course try to be correct. But I am not a doctor, so always ask a doctor, educated in Western medicine or ask an alternative doctor if you are sick. Don't try to heal yourself without professional help. Take the information as a base for studying more and not as an absolute proof. Also in this kind of table the information is very short and the words are not weighed on a scale as in a longer document. Take the information as a hint about what to eat, drink and what to avoid. If you eat enough of fresh raw organic organic vegetables and fruits you should not need to worry much about lack of minerals or toxic forms of minerals. If you drink and shower with water from RO systems or distillers you should not need to worry about water quality

Consult Rajen M at Alterni.com for details about minerals. He has a Ph.D in Holistic Medicine with minerals as specialty. His companies TotalHealthConcept and Alterni sell many useful supplements, some based on the healing properties of Minerals. Each and every company that sells herbs base their success on the healing properties of minerals, since herbs are very good at accumulating beneficial organic minerals. However there are of course many other healing properties in raw fresh plants and fruits, but I concentrate in this list on minerals since they are obviously very important for health. I have taken much of the information about minerals from Rajen M's articles in the Star, Periodic magazines from Alterni.com and sales brochures from TotalHealthConcept, both owned by him.
When dosages are mentioned below they are for adults. Children dosages are normally around 20% thereof. (Knowing this one wonders why Vaccines contain the same amount of Mercury both for Adults and Children including Babies, (in other words as if they don't care.. Ever wondered why?)).

Everything that makes your body fluids acidic. Pasteurized milk. High protein diets like methionine from especially Roast Chicken (Roast ham, Baked codfish, Swiss cheese, Roast chicken). Eat foods containing too much methionine, and your blood will become acidic. The sulfur converts to sulfates and weak forms of sulfuric acid. In order to neutralize the acid, in its wisdom, the body leaches calcium from bones.

Silver
Silver has some very positive beneficial properties in metallic form:

Silver in metallic form is a very good antiseptic. It kills efficiently virus and bacteria. The expression "Born with a silver spoon in the mouth" comes from that children were encouraged to have a silver spoon in the mouth to stave off flu epidemics etc. Silver in metallic form, extremely small amounts was a common remedy in the 1940ies also in Western Medicine. Smaller dosages kan e.g. kill bad bacteria in the intestines but spare the good bacteria. About dosage check out what dr. Mercola com has to say. It is important not to use too much if used temporarily or too long.

Silver in its metallic more or less toxic form:

Too much metallic silver can kill even good bacteria in the intestines. Try a smaller dosage if you use colloidal metallic silver and combine with probiotics. In a very high dosage it could even cause a cytokine storm

Colloidal silver is to put under the tongue only a short while. However check what dr. Mercola at http://www.mercola.com/ writes about Collodial silver dosage and the right and wrong use of it short term and long-term
